Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to determine students' physical therapy needs, taking into account their individual requirements and goals.
  • Develop Personalized Treatment Plans: Create and implement tailored treatment plans to enhance students' mobility, strength, coordination, and functional abilities, ensuring optimal progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Educational Team: Work closely with educators, parents, and other members of the educational team to ensure seamless communication and coordination, promoting student success.
  • Deliver Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and assistive device training, to students in a school-based setting.
  • Monitor and Document Progress: Regularly monitor and document students' progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal results.
  • Participate in IEP Meetings: Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing valuable input on physical therapy goals and objectives to support student success.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and school policies, ensuring compliance and transparency.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy: Possess a Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current State Licensure: Hold current state licensure as a Physical Therapist or be eligible for licensure.
  • Previous Experience with Pediatric Populations: Have previous experience working with pediatric populations, with a strong understanding of their unique needs and requirements.
  • Familiarity with School-Based Therapy Practices: Be familiar with school-based therapy practices and regulations, ensuring compliance and effective delivery of services.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to address the unique needs of each student, ensuring optimal outcomes and student success.
