FC Production Trainer Job Description

As a key member of our team, the FC Production Trainer will play a vital role in facilitating orientation and maintaining training materials for new hires. This role requires a strong ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and to schedule own job assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update and facilitate orientation presentations, materials, and training curriculum for new hires and training assistants.
  • Maintain and update all new hire and training assistant training checklists.
  • Conduct training assistant certifications and schedule training room for training and follow-up training.
  • Provide safety training on the production floor, relevant to production operations.
  • Conduct on-the-job training (OJT) for new hires on Order Filler duties, specific to either picking or packing.
  • Schedule and conduct follow-up training for XP and Q12.
  • Administer Q12 surveys and all yearly trainings.
  • Monitor progress of new hires and provide support as needed.
  • Perform follow-up coaching as requested.
  • Provide retraining and cross-training of associates on warehouse operations with established procedures, as needed.
  • Assist with XP kick-offs, including training of assigned associates and coaching.
  • Present and/or participate in T.I.M. meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and project a positive professional image at all times.
  • Enter employee data into the Lighthouse database.
  • Responsible for the check-in and orientation of temporary labor.
  • May be necessary to work required extra hours, including weekends, based on business needs.
  • Must be able to work in production as needed.
  • May be asked to perform in a Production 3-Deep capacity.
  • Regular attendance to OTC training classes is required.
  • Flexible scheduling is required.
  • Must be able to work with several employees at one time.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Promotes an environment that encourages employee engagement.
  • Actively participate in your Impact planning sessions and work to improve your engagement.
  • Works in a performance management environment.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company.
  • Must be able to attend face-to-face meetings on short or little advance notice.
  • Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work with all levels of management.
  • PC skills required, including PowerPoint presentations, Lotus Notes, and Excel.
  • Average reading and math ability.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good people skills, confident, and approachable.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in at least one area with established procedures under XP, preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of XP, preferred.
  • Proven performance under XP (minimum 80% 4-week average), preferred.
  • Proven accuracy under XP, preferred.
  • Ability to respond with flexibility to changing work demands.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous training experience in a multi-flow production environment, preferred.
  • 1 year OTC production experience, preferred.
Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to walk or stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to frequently push, squat, bend, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally climb stairs and ladders to reach assigned work area and product.
  • Ability to work in elevated work areas up to 28 feet high.
