We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Core Tech to join our team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a Radiology Core Tech, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our radiology department.
Key Responsibilities- Review daily schedules to determine necessary equipment and supplies needed for patient care within the specified Radiology modality.
- Consult with Radiology Team Leader and staff to determine the daily operational needs for procedures and patient care.
- Procedural room setup and turnover.
- Maintain daily supplies and stock.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner.
- Subject to cover weekends and holiday hours.
- Always maintain identifiable/professional attire, including using nametags and ID cards.
- Answer telephone calls within three rings 95% of the time.
- Respect the confidentiality of patients and co-workers in all circumstances 100% of the time.
- Greet patients, families, co-workers, and others in a calm, professional, friendly manner; make eye contact, initiate conversation, and identify yourself by name.
- Follow hospital and department procedures and policies.
- Adhere to attendance policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of CHOP and department policies and procedures.
- Review policy and procedure updates from managers and CHOP.
- Report any incident that seems unusual/deficient to supervisor and/or Security.
- Correct and/or report unsafe, unsecured, or unclean environment to supervisor and/or Environmental, Health and Safety, or Facilities departments.
- Always take breaks away from patient and family areas.
- Keep yourself and work area neat and organized.
- Participate collaboratively in staff meetings, committees, projects, and teams to resolve conflicts and meet institutional goals.
- Review and contribute to the attainment of departmental and CHOP goals annually.
- Demonstrate knowledge of constant quality improvement values and participate in CHOP and departmental Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Document and report all necessary education and training.
- Other shifts as assigned.
- Review learning needs with supervisor to set individual education and learning goals annually.
- Follow CHOP and departmental cost control standards: monitor usage of supplies.
- High School Diploma / GED Required.
- Pediatric experience Preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - issued through an organization that requires a hands-on instructor-led psychomotor skills verification (e.g., American Heart Association or Red Cross).
- Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of Radiology Information Systems.
- Provides Family Centered Care.
- Ability to work independent of supervision.
- Basic organizational skills.
- Basic phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Able to handle multiple tasks.
- Must learn MRI Safety.
- Minimum of 1 year of health-related experience is preferred.
- Epic experience preferred.
