Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at Alexander County School District. As a Speech Language Pathology Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist to provide clinical-educational services for students with speech-language disorders.

Key Responsibilities
Administer direct and indirect intervention for students to assist a speech-language pathologist in the provision of clinical-educational services.
Use individually designed interventions based upon the unique clinical-educational needs of each student.
Work under direct supervision by the speech-language pathologist, recognizing when changes in a student's needs require assistance.
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with students, families, and professionals.
Perform clerical and administrative functions, including organizing and managing student data and records.

Requirements
Completion of an Associate's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting from an accredited institution of higher learning, community college, or equivalent program.
Registration as an assistant with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
Ability to communicate effectively, prepare and maintain accurate records, and arrange the therapy setting to maintain a safe and positive environment.

Working Conditions
The work environment is a school setting, with occasional travel to testing or therapy areas.
The assistant must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and tools, including computer software, computer hardware, cables, etc.
The assistant must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
