Surgical Trauma ICU Nurse Leader

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Unit Supervisor in our Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) at Inova Loudoun Hospital.
Job Summary:The ideal candidate will have at least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience, with a preference for 2+ years of ICU Registered Nurse experience. Prior charge or supervisor experience is also preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.
Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing team to ensure high-quality patient care and a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
- Act as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and making patient experience a priority.
- Provide genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring, and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team.
- BSN or MSN preferred; open to Associate Degree RNs but must be within one year of completing their BSN.
- Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days of employment.
- BLS (AHA) required, ACLS within 90-days, Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
- RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.
Inova Loudoun Hospital is a growing 211-bed nationally recognized acute-care community hospital with a rich history of proudly serving our growing and diverse community since 1912. We provide compassionate and comprehensive care for the entire family.
This is a night shift position 7:00pm – 7:00am – 3 x 12-hour shifts/week. Our Surgical Trauma ICU unit is a 12-bed unit on the second floor with close proximity to the OR. We care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients, including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery patients, along with post-procedural patients. We also care for Intermediate Care level surgical and trauma patients as well.
Patient to Nurse Ratio: 2:1 (ICU patients) and 3:1 (IMC patients) in the STICU.
Bonus: Sign on Bonus and Relocation Bonus (if moving to the area).
