Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Treatment: Ensure that nursing practice complies with established nursing standards and provide comprehensive treatment care while observing and maintaining security requirements.
  • Operational Efficiency: Monitor and recommend methods to improve operational efficiency and cost containment effectiveness.
  • Healthcare Staff Management: Assist in coordinating and conducting monthly health care staff meetings, as assigned.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Health Counseling: Provide health counseling to inmates/patients.
  • Sick Call and Treatment: Conduct sick call for inmates/patients and provide provisional diagnosis and treatment for selected minor illnesses and injuries defined by written protocol and approved by PCM Director.
  • Assessment and Documentation: Observe, report, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participate in the formulation of the plan of nursing care.
  • Treatment Care Plans: Implement treatment care plans that promote, maintain, and restore the well-being of inmates/patients.
  • Vital Signs and Assessment: Take vital signs, conduct a complete assessment, and document findings on dispensary care of all inmates/patients housed in the medical unit and/or mental health unit at the beginning of every shift.

Requirements
