Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer routine respiratory care to patients, including incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary drainage procedures.
  • Assess patients receiving respiratory care using bedside assessment techniques and knowledge of indications, contraindications, and hazards of procedures.
  • Respond to resuscitation and rapid response pages as a team member.
  • Perform basic spirometry procedures, electrocardiograms, arterial blood gas sampling, and analysis.
  • Provide patient education and assist with community events related to respiratory care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science required.
  • Graduate of respiratory therapy program required or board-eligible within a few months of graduation.
  • Credentialed by the NBRC at the Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist level required.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa required.
  • CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire required.
