Requirements
- Basic Life Support BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- 1 year of licensed psychiatric technician (LPT) experience preferred
- Current and active licensed psychiatric technician (LPT) license
Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) Responsibilities
- Provide basic general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to mentally or developmentally disabled patients
- Conduct daily clinical rounds and monitoring of patients with signs and symptoms of mental illness
- Under general supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or medical doctor (MD), perform psychiatric nursing procedures, including administering medications and treatments, taking and charting vital signs, and performing other basic general nursing procedures within the scope of licensure
