Role Overview:
The Cardiac Catheterization Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in executing advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures within the cardiac catheterization lab. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and catheters are ready and sterile.
- Maintaining high-quality imaging standards and ensuring the functionality of x-ray equipment.
- Addressing patient needs throughout the procedure, providing support and care.
- Assisting physicians during procedures by scrubbing in and managing catheters.
- Monitoring and documenting vital data, including hemodynamic and angiographic information.
- Participating in critical care measures, including defibrillation and CPR.
- Being available for on-call duties as per the established schedule.
- Facilitating patient transport to nursing units post-procedure.
- Ensuring the cardiac lab is well-stocked and prepared for upcoming procedures.
- Demonstrating professional and technical competencies relevant to the department.
- Communicating effectively with the healthcare team to ensure patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree in Radiology or completion of a certification program in Radiography.
Licensure: Required: Current ARRT (R) certification and a valid Radiologic Technologist license from the State of Indiana.
