Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the bakery operation, including ordering supplies and products, merchandising bakery goods, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Engage with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information, and providing selling suggestions.
  • Communicate directly with the bakery manager, store director, and bakery specialist to ensure seamless operations.
  • Process cash register transactions, give back change, process checks, EBTs, and refunds.
  • Use scale printer machines to ensure weights and pricing are correct.
  • Monitor product pricing, signage, and placement, as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage.
  • Keep a clean, neat, and orderly check stand/sales counter and work production areas.
  • Wrap, bag, box, weigh, slice, finish, and stock bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety.
  • Take customer orders, ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Help decorators and bakers with the personalization of cakes and icing of cakes, donuts, sweet rolls, and other bakery products.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, and twist.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with all sorts of flours, baking ingredients, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils.
