The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by providing direct patient care and administrative support at the Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center. This position requires a strong focus on safety, infection control, and effective communication with patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient intake procedures, including obtaining medical information, recording vital signs, and evaluating patients before and after treatment.
- Assist in patient care by preparing patients for diagnostic tests, examinations, and minor surgical procedures.
- Administer medications as prescribed, monitor patients for reactions, and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Draw blood and collect specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper handling and labeling.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper entry of data into computer systems.
- Prepare medical supplies and equipment for use during patient care and procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in treatment areas, maintaining adequate supply levels.
- Act as a liaison between patients and primary care providers, facilitating communication and coordination of care.
- Provide guidance and support to other medical support staff and participate in training programs.
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from recognized agencies such as the American Association of Medical Assistants or the National Healthcareer Association.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification renewed every two years.
Work Environment:
The Certified Medical Assistant works in a clinical setting, requiring direct patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare providers.
