About the Role

This position reports directly to the Yard Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the plant grounds, assisting in maintenance, and delivering materials. The successful candidate will be familiar with the layout of the plant and proficient in the use of equipment such as skid loaders, forklifts, and front-end loaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain plant roads, sidewalks, rail tracks, and switches
  • Empty oil drums and operate the oil-water separator
  • Learn to operate various pieces of equipment, including skid loaders, forklifts, front-end loaders, articulated haul trucks, dozers, tele-handlers, shuttle wagons, and graders
  • Manage clinker in the storage barn
  • Plan and maintain raw materials in proper locations in the plant
  • Assist with unloading material delivery barges
  • Maintain plant cleanliness using skid loaders, front-end loaders, and haul trucks
  • Rail car movements and unloading of rail cars
  • Clean rail tracks and tie switches
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA standards
  • Comply with service standards, work instructions, and other requirements
  • Availability to work shifts and overtime
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Small mobile equipment experience
  • Willingness to participate in training program to become proficient in plant equipment
  • Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies
