Senior Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemist to join our team at Tremco Construction Products Group, Inc. As a Senior Chemist, you will be responsible for applying and interpreting standard scientific or engineering theories, concepts, and techniques in a scientific or engineering specialty requiring a working knowledge of related disciplines.

• Prepare project requests or research proposals on assigned projects, creating ideas for new products or approaches and conducting individual investigations.
• Execute laboratory projects, continuously assessing effectiveness, developing research findings, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
• Contribute to research programs of others through communications and participation in technical work groups and design teams.
• Responsible for meeting project goals within time, quality, and budget constraints, utilizing initiative to keep projects on track.
• Coordinate work of others, anticipating, and resolving priority conflicts.
• Acquire and maintain technical expertise in coatings industry and its technologies.
• Communicate and verify technical information directly to various departments, suppliers, or customers.
• Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.

• 4-year Chemistry degree or equivalent experience of 10 years Chemistry experience.
• 5 Years in protective coating.
• 10 years formulation.

Lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to chemicals including but not limited to: Amines, Polyamides, Isocyanates, Epoxies, Alkyds, Acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds. Personal protective equipment would be utilized. Must pass annual respirator medical evaluation and pulmonary function test as required by OSHA.
