The ideal candidate will contribute towards delivering accurate and timely financial insights, supporting job costing and project accounting, and ensuring key financial processes are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements in accordance with GAAP, highlighting key trends and areas of improvement.
  • Job Cost Accounting:
    Manage job cost accounting for construction projects, ensuring accuracy in tracking costs, revenue, and profitability.
  • General Ledger Management:
    Oversee the general ledger, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, to ensure accurate and reliable financial information.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    Assist in developing company budgets and forecasts, providing insightful variance analysis to inform business decisions.
  • AP/AR Oversight:
    Ensure accurate management of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes, minimizing delays and maximizing cash flow.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure adherence to company policies, local regulations, and construction contract accounting standards, maintaining a high level of compliance and risk management.
  • Financial Analysis:
    Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including cost analysis, cash flow projections, and profitability assessments.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with project managers, senior leadership, and other departments to provide actionable financial insights and drive project success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, and project accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
