Job Title: Caregiver Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver Support Professional to join our team at Caregiver, Inc. This is a part-time position with the potential to lead to full-time employment.

Job Summary:

The Caregiver Support Professional will provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, facilitating daily living activities, social skills, and community access. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a patient demeanor, and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dining skills, and housekeeping skills.
  • Provide direct support to individuals in training activities, as specified in ISPs and activity schedules.
  • Aid in mobility for individuals using wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
  • Assist with meal service, teaching dining skills and promoting social skills and personal dignity.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to company policy.
  • Act as a Primary Person (P2) for one or more individuals, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
  • Attend and successfully complete in-service training sessions as scheduled.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to fellow Direct Support Professionals.
  • Complete data collection, observation notes, and daily reports as directed by agency policy and procedure.
  • Assist individuals in transportation as needed.
  • Participate as a member of the Individual Support Team, providing input toward the individual's ISP.
  • Monitor individuals' activities to ensure safety and health care practices are observed.
Qualifications:
  • A high school education or its equivalent is preferred.
  • Some previous experience in supporting/assisting individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
