Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional services to students with disabilities, adhering to their Individual Education Program (IEP).
- Develop tailored objectives and timelines to meet the unique needs of each student, as outlined in their IEP.
- Design and implement engaging instruction aligned with the curriculum, modified to accommodate the diverse abilities and needs of each student.
- Provide instructional support within a collaborative setting, including co-teaching, push-in, resource, and self-contained environments.
- Address communication, behavior, and sensory needs of students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Regularly monitor student progress and maintain open communication with parents, staff, and administrators.
- Collaborate with other educators and related service providers to develop and implement best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a LBS1 unlimited endorsement.
- Foundational knowledge of distance learning structures and Google Suite applications.
- Experience working with non-verbal autistic students is preferred.
- Familiarity with EASYIEP and ability to work with the Special Education Coordinator to facilitate IEP meetings.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
