Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our team at GPAC, a leading search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 70 employees, ensuring timely federal and state payroll tax deposits.
  • Compile hours from field personnel and process certified payroll for applicable construction jobs.
  • Prepare documents needed for insurance audits and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare weekly payroll reports and scan/filing of all payroll reports.
  • Report new hires online and administer company health insurance plans, including enrollment, change requests, and COBRA requests.
  • Coordinate with TPA on employee distribution requests and prepare yearend census information for 401k testing.
Requirements:
  • Preferred: 5+ years of related work experience and Associate's Degree in Accounting.
  • Preferred: Construction experience, including certified payroll.
  • Familiarity with payroll laws, taxes, and pay procedures, processes, and overall compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) applications and high-level of organization skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to think logically and solve problems, maintain integrity and professionalism, and handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends (as needed) to meet deadlines.
