Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to administer advanced respiratory care therapeutics and diagnostic services with skill and proficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer advanced respiratory therapeutic interventions, including heliox, nitric oxide, and chest wall oscillation, with moderate proficiency and occasional supervision.
  • Establish and manage basic mechanical ventilation with high proficiency and minimal to no supervision.
  • Perform weaning mechanics as ordered with high proficiency in more than 90 percent of ventilator patients cared for.
  • Review the need for continuing ventilator support and develop or refine ventilator care plans.
  • Formulate a plan of care for patients based on diagnostic data, response to therapy, and physiologic profiles.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program.
  • Six months in a critical care environment or one or more years of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehabilitation as a practicing Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care or more than 10 years of experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support from AHA upon start.
  • Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) must be obtained within one year from date of hire.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
