We are a leading manufacturer of handmade glassware, seeking a skilled glass furnace specialist to join our team.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week, with occasional overnight and weekend shifts.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, honest, punctual, and reliable individual who can work independently.

Responsibilities
  • Securing the premises and personnel by patrolling the property, inspecting buildings, equipment, furnaces, and access points.
  • Assisting with placing dry chemical batches for glass into furnaces for melting as needed.
  • Ladling out scrap glass from glass furnaces as needed, infrequently.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the hot glass work area in an orderly condition.
  • Maintaining hourly log of furnace temperatures.
  • Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Qualifications
  • Lifting (50-100lbs), surveillance skills, dealing with uncertainty, judgment, objectivity, dependability, emotional control, integrity, safety management, professionalism, reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree not required.
  • Experience or licensing with forklifts or other heavy machinery a plus. Certifications such as OSHA a plus. Military experience a plus.
What We Offer

Competitive salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
