About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychologist to join our team at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI). As a Forensic Psychologist, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide clinical and forensic psychological services to patients. Your primary duties will include conducting court-ordered competence to stand trial evaluations, providing and directing didactic and skills-based competence restoration treatment, and providing individual/group/family psychotherapy.

Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Experience in providing service, treatment, or assessment to those affected by mental health challenges
  • Experience in an intellectual disability and developmental disabilities environment
  • Ability to design processes for the review of data, make decisions based on data and on trends and regulations in providing services and support to people with ID and DD
  • Knowledge of types of and trends in services to support people with ID and DD
  • Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations that govern the operation of services provided to persons with ID and DD
