As a Contact Representative at the Office of Personnel Management, you will be part of a team responsible for providing support through the performance of a variety of routine tasks. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Answer a wide range of customer inquiries received by telephone, email, written correspondence, and facsimile.
- Use automated or other systems in the assigned office to track cases, monitor workloads, input workload information, and/or correspondence assigned to the office.
- Perform filing and imaging functions for various records, claims, forms, and miscellaneous material.
- Label and assemble case files in specified order.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
- This position is eligible for inclusion in the bargaining unit. The union that represents employees in this position is the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2450.
For the GS 3: Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, or a combination of the two to qualify.
- Experience: You must have at least six months of general experience of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position.
- OR
- Education: You must have one (1) full year of education above the high school level. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
- OR
- Combination of experience and education: You must have a combination of A and B as described above. To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 6, then divide your semester hours by 30 and add the two percentages. If the total is 100%, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education.
