Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning
    • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify physiologic and psychosocial health status
    • Develop individualized plans of care to address patient needs and promote optimal outcomes
  • Care Coordination
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure informed decision-making
  • Medication Administration
    • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to hospital policies and procedures
    • Monitor patients for medication side effects and adjust plans as needed
  • Education and Support
    • Provide patient education on health conditions, treatments, and self-care
    • Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and families
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
  • BLS/ACLS/NRP/NCC-EFM/AWHONN certifications required
