Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Lecturer to join our team at University College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one of our courses, assisting first-year students in their academic journey, and providing guidance on key factors that impact their transition and success in college and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in training and bi-weekly instructor meetings
  • Meet weekly with peer instructor to plan course content
  • Hold office hours each week to support students
  • Attend each class session and communicate regularly with program coordinator, peer instructor, and associate director
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and experience working with diverse populations of college-age students and peers
  • Working knowledge of basic office technology (Office 365, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with college-age students, faculty, and departmental staff
  • Strong knowledge of the ISU campus, including culture, resources, and disciplines
  • State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in English as a requirement for this position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • College-level teaching or tutoring experience
  • Prior experience working with FTIC students
  • Employed by ISU or previously employed by ISU
  • Understanding of challenges facing college students today
