- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions.
- Administer medications and treatments, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as assigned.
- Perform venous access device management and transfusions, adhering to policy and guidelines.
- Provide telephone consultation and triage, ensuring timely and effective care coordination.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, adhering to system policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in staff education and development, sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Provider Card/Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Preferred certifications: OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) or CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, including experience in oncology.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
- Exceptional organization and communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations.
May be exposed to cytotoxic and hazardous waste, as well as blood and body fluids. Protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
