At Madison Reed, we're committed to providing exceptional beauty services to our guests. As a Licensed Colorist, you'll be the expert on Madison Reed consultations, hair care products, blowout services, and unlimited roots memberships. Your goal will be to help guests find the best color for them and execute their service with perfection.

The starting hourly rate for this position is between $16.50 to $17.50 per hour. This rate may vary based on factors such as geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Additionally, commissions and tips will be available based on individual performance.

As a Licensed Colorist, your responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrating teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with our values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
• Providing consultations and all services offered on the menu, including shampooing and conditioning, styling, and chemical services to the highest quality standards.
• Being attentive to guest needs to help select the best products and color for them while staying flexible to business needs and on time for bookings.
• Contributing to achieving monthly sales goals and other key performance indicators, including retail sales, services, and memberships.
• Ensuring the Hair Color Bar meets company standards regarding cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and company asset security.
• Adhering to protocols regarding Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Driving Hair Color Bar revenue through increasing the average service ticket by offering additional services, selling unlimited roots memberships, subscriptions, home hair care, and more.
• Growing within Madison Reed by participating in ongoing training and staying up-to-date on MR products and service offerings.
• Supporting the training and development of Assistant Colorists through demonstration, coaching, and care.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

• An active cosmetology license in the state in which you are applying.
• At least 1 year of experience as a colorist behind the chair within a salon environment.
• Effective communication, strong problem-solving, and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems.
• Fluency in English.
