Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Assistant at Providence Home Page, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility's physical plant and essential mechanical, electrical, and resident care equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the equipment in a safe operating condition, adhering to Life Safety Code and state and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements, to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections, in our TELS system.
  • Ensure resident rooms are ready for new admissions and maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the facility.
  • Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently, following established protocols.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-services to stay up-to-date on best practices and company policies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical school certification preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a related trade or position, preferably in Assisted Living, Independent Living, or Skilled Nursing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, climb, bend, and stoop regularly.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle as part of service and delivery requirements.

Work Environment:

This role operates in various environments throughout the facility, exposing you to heat, cold, weather conditions, sharp objects, electric tools, and chemicals. You will be required to dress in an assigned uniform and maintain a professional appearance during your shift.
