Additionally, the specialist will oversee the upkeep of the barn's facilities and equipment, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guarantee the humane and ethical treatment of poultry, aligning with best practices as mandated by regulatory bodies such as the USDA and FDA.
  • Manage the removal of deceased birds and assist with pest control measures.
  • Conduct regular walks through the barn to collect eggs efficiently.
  • Replace any non-functional light bulbs as needed.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of water and feed systems throughout the barn.
  • Maintain cleanliness of egg transfer equipment.
  • Utilize blowers to keep egg collectors free of debris.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of both the front and back areas of the barn.
  • Capture any birds that may have escaped their designated areas.
Requirements:

EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience with poultry is advantageous.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain agility is essential.
