Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Neurology Specialty
Shift: Full Time, 8am-4:30pm
We are looking for a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with extensive experience in patient care and a solid understanding of the needs of a specialized patient demographic.
- The LPN will deliver both direct and indirect nursing care to patients and their families in standard nursing scenarios under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or licensed healthcare provider.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses in ensuring patient comfort, care, and treatment.
- Perform a variety of semi-skilled nursing tasks.
- Administer intravenous medications and treatments.
- Support diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor and document patients' conditions and progress.
- In complex cases where patients are unstable or require urgent care, the LPN will operate under the direct supervision of the RN or licensed provider.
- All tasks and patient interactions will adhere to Emory Healthcare's patient and family-centered care standards.
- Carry out additional related responsibilities as necessary.
- Conduct daily inventory of medical supplies and equipment; maintain examination and treatment areas according to infection control policies and clinic protocols, ensuring an adequate supply of forms, materials, and equipment in all examination rooms.
- Record and document patient vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, and blood pressure; obtain patient measurements such as height, weight, and pain levels in the electronic medical record.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
- Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Georgia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
