Your Role

We are in search of a highly experienced DSP Kafka Architect to become a vital part of our data engineering division. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in software development, particularly in distributed stream processing and the Kafka ecosystem. You will take charge of designing, implementing, and sustaining resilient, scalable, and real-time data processing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and execute scalable and dependable real-time stream processing solutions utilizing Kafka and associated technologies.
  • Create applications capable of processing extensive data volumes with minimal latency and maximum throughput.
  • Seamlessly integrate Kafka with various data sources and destinations, ensuring smooth data transitions throughout the system.
  • Enhance and oversee Kafka clusters to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to comprehend data needs and deliver accurate data streams.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in Kafka and DSP technologies, adopting best practices to continually enhance the platform.
  • Offer technical mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to data pipelines and stream processing.
  • Document system architectures, designs, and operational processes.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of software development experience, with a focus on Kafka and stream processing.
  • Extensive experience with Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and the broader Kafka ecosystem.
  • Proficient in Java or Scala, with familiarity in Python or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with stream processing frameworks such as Apache Flink, Apache Storm, or similar technologies.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems principles and data partitioning methodologies.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their streaming services.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, including Cassandra or MongoDB.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing methodologies.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a robust GitHub portfolio demonstrating relevant projects.
