Massage Therapist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Massage Therapist to join our team at Gundersen Health System. As a Massage Therapist, you will work closely with patients to provide individualized care and relaxation through safe and effective massage techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough health histories on clients and update prior to each session, ensuring precautions and contraindications are considered.

2. Explain procedures and apply techniques tailored to client needs and preferences.

3. Manipulate muscles and soft tissues to promote relaxation and therapeutic benefits.

4. Monitor client reactions and solicit feedback, adjusting techniques accordingly.

5. Collaborate with Integrative Medicine providers to ensure comprehensive care.

6. Educate clients on stretching, strengthening, and relaxation techniques to improve posture and overall well-being.

7. Document client progress and condition in electronic medical records.

8. Provide massage orientation services, education seminars, and promote massage services.

Requirements:

1. Post-high school education in a specialized field, such as an Accredited Massage Therapy Program.

2. 2 years of experience as a licensed or certified massage therapist.

3. Wisconsin Massage Therapist and Bodywork Therapist License (MTBT-WI).

4. Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Work Environment:

This role is part of our Integrative Medicine Center, where you will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.

Physical Demands:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and static standing, with occasional stooping, bending, and squatting.
