POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The primary aim of this role is to deliver safe and effective healthcare to patients. The position involves active participation in the education and training of residents from affiliated medical programs. The role significantly contributes to the clinical services within the Pediatric Otolaryngology/Audiology Division. A commitment to clinical scholarship is essential, demonstrated through involvement in research and publication efforts. Additionally, the candidate will engage in service and administrative activities aligned with the division's needs and their own expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate healthcare that is evidence-based and tailored to the clinical specialty. Establish a reputation for clinical excellence and develop a robust referral network. Utilize innovative approaches to enhance patient care and collaborate with other healthcare providers to create comprehensive care plans. Monitor and assess treatment efficacy and patient outcomes continuously.
- Education and Mentorship: Engage in the education and clinical training of medical students and residents, providing guidance and supervision in both outpatient and surgical settings. Contribute to the development of educational programs and materials, ensuring that teaching methods are effective and up-to-date. Act as a mentor and role model within the division, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Administrative and Service Contributions: Participate in the development of clinical programs and administrative initiatives. Engage in performance improvement projects and contribute to divisional committees. Provide necessary coverage for clinical duties and assist in the formulation of policies and procedures that enhance patient care.
- Research and Scholarly Activities: Involve oneself in scholarly pursuits, including the publication of clinical findings and participation in clinical trials. Develop and implement research initiatives that advance the field of pediatric otolaryngology. Present research outcomes at national conferences and contribute to the body of knowledge in the specialty.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Mandatory:
- Medical Degree (MD/DO) or equivalent.
- Active medical license in the relevant state.
- Completion of credentialing processes as required.
- Eligibility for faculty appointment at the assistant or associate professor level.
Preferred:
- Board certification in relevant specialties.
- Specialization in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology.
- Understanding of growth and development principles.
- Commitment to family-centered care and shared decision-making.
- Professional knowledge and clinical acumen in managing complex pediatric cases.
- Familiarity with pathophysiology and pharmacological treatments.
- Skills in patient and family education.
- Appreciation for diversity and cultural competence.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
