Work Schedule: Day shifts with variable hours | No supervisory duties | Minimal travel required.
Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of our Nursing team members is to ensure an exceptional patient experience while delivering professional nursing services across diverse inpatient and outpatient environments. The Registered Nurse (RN) will engage in the nursing process, which encompasses patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care provided. Collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team is essential to offer both physical and emotional support to patients and their families, all while adhering to hospital policies and nursing standards.
Key Qualifications:
Experience: Recent experience in emergency or critical care settings is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NC.
- Current CPR Certification.
- ACLS Certification to be obtained during orientation.
- PALS Certification required within three months.
- TNCC Certification is preferred.
Core Responsibilities:
The Emergency Department RN will provide direct and personalized nursing care to patients based on established nursing principles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating a supportive environment through emotional, psychological, and spiritual care for patients and their families.
- Delivering direct, professional nursing care.
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Adhering to infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Ensuring the safe operation of medical equipment.
- Preparing equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments specific to the emergency department.
- Administering medications accurately using electronic health records.
- Documenting, monitoring, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Providing education on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and reassessments for all age groups.
- Interacting professionally with patients and families, providing reassurance and explanations.
- Developing and updating individualized care plans for each patient.
- Acting as a patient advocate.
- Complying with established protocols and policies.
- Understanding cardiac monitoring and appropriate interventions.
- Prioritizing nursing care using critical thinking skills.
- Documenting all nursing care accurately and promptly.
- Communicating effectively with all hospital personnel and visitors.
- Demonstrating flexibility and composure in high-pressure situations.
- Exhibiting professionalism and respect towards all individuals.
- Participating in the orientation and training of new staff members.
- Engaging in special projects and quality improvement initiatives.
- Understanding the triage process and effectively prioritizing patient acuity.
Vaccination Requirement: All new employees must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment, unless an exemption has been requested and granted.
