Job Overview

McClendon Center is a leading not-for-profit organization in Washington, DC, providing outpatient behavioral rehabilitation to the mentally ill. As a certified community-based service provider, we foster creativity, promote friendship, instill independence, and provide an outlet for emotional growth and greater participation in the community.

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing individual psychotherapy services, crisis intervention, and consultation with psychiatrists and other behavioral health providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial diagnostic assessments and psychosocial evaluations for new clients.
  • Provide individual psychotherapy services, including CBT and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Meet productivity requirements, averaging 5.00 hours of therapy per day.
  • Collaborate with Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS) and case managers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Enter session notes and documentation within established agency timelines.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed and consult with psychiatrists and other providers.
  • Participate in staff development activities and quality of care initiatives.
  • Deliver in-person therapy 4 days a week and virtual therapy 1 day a week.
Requirements
  • Must hold an LICSW, LPC, LGSW, LMFT, or LGPC license in good standing with the District of Columbia.
  • Must possess a National Provider Identification Number (NPI).
  • Knowledge of CBT and trauma-informed frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience with substance use disorders and trauma-related disorders is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and computer skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently are essential.
