Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement school health programs to promote student health and wellness.
- Conduct regular health screenings, including hearing and vision screenings, scoliosis screenings, and pediculosis screenings.
- Provide age-appropriate health-related educational programs to students, including CPR, HIV-Aids, nutrition, general health and well-being, dental health, and growth and development.
- Provide standard care for students and staff in the case of injury or emergency illness, administering first aid in accordance with established procedures.
- Implement Board policy and school health guidelines on exclusion and readmission of students with infectious and contagious diseases.
- Supervise student immunization compliance, providing resources, exemptions, and readmissions as needed.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by physicians.
- Coordinate health education programs with non-district personnel, including nursing students, respiratory therapy students, and volunteers.
- Develop and implement Individual Healthcare Plans and 504 plans for medically sensitive students.
- Registered Nurse (R.N.) licensure by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a School Nurse by the Oklahoma State Board of Education.
- Current CPR instructor certification.
- Experience in public health and/or school district health fields preferred.
The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.
The employee may be required to work in various locations, including schools and offices, in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation.
The employee's eligibility for a varied work location will be determined by the superintendent of schools.
