Job Title: Teacher

At Desert Pre-School Academy, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our team. As a Teacher, you will play a vital role in implementing a curriculum program to teach young children, promoting their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children, incorporating activities that meet their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious snacks and lunches to the children, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Provide adequate equipment and activities, maintaining a clean, well-maintained, and safe facility at all times.
  • Establish routines and provide positive guidance, building children's self-esteem and comfort levels.
  • Supervise children in the facilities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and members of the community, discussing children's development and progress.
  • Participate in community activities, promoting literacy and early education.
  • Complete reporting requirements, including DRDPs, ERS self-studies, and monthly submissions of lesson plans and curriculum orders.
Requirements:
  • Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
  • Completed a minimum of 12 core Early Childhood Education (ECE) / Child Development (CD) college units.
  • Previous teaching experience or experience working with children.
  • Personal qualities: friendly, inviting, adaptable, and open to constructive feedback.
  • TB Clearance (every two years), Physical (once upon hire), Fingerprinting Clearance, Vaccines, Flu Shot, CPR/First Aid Certification, and Mandated Reporter Training.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work in a classroom setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management.
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry.
  • Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions.
  • Ability to supervise numerous children at once, while ensuring safety as a priority.
