Job Description

At Houston Methodist, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a PRN position. As a licensed staff nurse, you will function at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice, providing professional nursing care to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, and maintenance of medical records.
  • Provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently, which may include patients with varied and complex needs.
  • Communicates and collaborates with physicians and interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate, coordinate, and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes.
  • Assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility, including participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Two years of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
