Position Title: Sports Coach

Organization: Adams 12 Five Star Schools

Required Certifications:
  • Head Coaches must possess a valid AED/CPR certification upon employment.
  • Assistant coaches are required to have a current First Aid/CPR certification or be willing to obtain one.
  • All coaching staff must be licensed educators or hold a valid coaching registration with CHSAA at the time of hire.
  • Coaches in Colorado must complete a concussion certification from the NFHS or Children's Hospital Colorado upon employment.
  • All coaching personnel must successfully pass the annual CHSAA Coaches Exam.
Educational Background and Experience:
  • Prior coaching experience or participation in sports at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:
  • Ability to oversee student athletes and enforce district, school, league, and CHSAA regulations.
  • Possess expertise and skills relevant to the specific sport.
  • Capability to plan, organize, and effectively lead the specific sport.
  • Ability to demonstrate and instruct advanced techniques in the specific sport.
  • Commitment to uphold Board of Education policies, Superintendent directives, and departmental procedures.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Awareness of safety protocols and adherence to safety regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
Must hold a current First Aid/CPR certification or be willing to obtain one. Previous coaching experience or participation in sports at the high school or collegiate level is necessary. Must demonstrate the ability to supervise students and enforce district and CHSAA regulations. Possess knowledge and skills in the specific sport, with the ability to plan, organize, and lead effectively. Capable of performing and teaching advanced techniques in the specific sport.
