Job Overview:

Primoris Renewable Energy is in search of a Site Material Specialist to oversee material management at project locations. This position will engage with multiple departments to facilitate all aspects of material oversight and site inventory control. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Site Material Specialist will collaborate with site buyers, construction teams, vendors, and owner representatives to address material requirements across various work disciplines, ensuring that all necessary materials are accessible on-site to meet construction timelines.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Primoris' Procurement and Material Management protocols. Act as the primary point of contact between the site team and the Procurement team regarding material issues.
  • Manage all domestic and international transportation logistics for materials to the project site. Liaise with shippers to confirm delivery schedules that align with construction timelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and the construction team on delivery timelines and all material-related concerns.
  • Achieve proficiency in various components of the Procurement module, including Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Purchase Contracts, Owner Supplied, Receiving, and Reports.
  • Assist in the creation, processing, and collection of necessary documentation for Material Receiving Reports, delivery forecasts, material inventory lists, and Warranty Claims.
  • Guide Field Engineers and Project Administrative Assistants in the processing and organization of shipping documentation.
  • Prepare and disseminate daily receiving and inventory reports to the project team. Update the material tracker daily and share with the team.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Compliance, and Quality teams to support construction activities on-site.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the site team to enhance the company's standing. Support the site management team in promoting the company's values and culture while representing the organization professionally.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Site Material Specialists are expected to relocate to the project site for the duration of assigned construction projects (average project duration is 6-9 months).
  • Associate's degree in Material Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, material tracking, and auditing is essential.
  • Prior experience in inventory management within industrial or commercial construction projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with relevant inventory software is preferred.
  • Understanding of Procurement and Material Management processes is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle driving record (MVR) are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory; proficiency in Visio is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups of 10 or more.
  • Willingness to work on-site for the duration of the project, including 50-60 hours per week.
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
