About This Role

As a CDL B Delivery Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive their orders promptly and efficiently. You'll be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to deliver a variety of products to businesses within your designated route. This position demands strong customer service skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver goods on schedule, adhering to assigned routes and delivery schedules.
  • Unload products at customer locations, placing them in designated areas with care.
  • Handle product movement, including lifting, pushing, or moving items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Perform tasks such as bending, twisting, stacking, and unstacking items as needed to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Process customer transactions, obtain signatures, and manage returns professionally.
  • Maintain strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in company meetings and training sessions as required.

What We Look For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in local food or beverage delivery is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pallet breakdown and hand cart delivery methods is a plus.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • One year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including background checks.
  • Willingness to participate in Sysco's Entry-Level Driver Training Program if required.

  • Understand product handling and inventory control procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally regarding routing updates, safety concerns, and customer service issues.
  • Possess basic math and language skills for accurate record-keeping and communication.
