Phlebotomist II

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist II, you will play a critical role in representing our company to patients and ensuring the quality of our blood samples.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and accurate manner.
• Administer oral solutions as required.
• Research and verify patient information and test orders.
• Enter data accurately and efficiently.
• Perform departmental-related clerical duties as assigned.
• Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses.

Requirements

• Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Lift light to moderately heavy objects. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand.

Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Superior customer focus and ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients.

Education and Certifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states).
