Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse Specialist is an advanced practice nurse who utilizes advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in providing primary and/or specialized health care services to individuals, families, groups, and communities across the health-illness continuum. This role involves direct provision of care using a collaborative model, with a focus on managing the health care needs of identified client populations. The Advanced Practice Nurse Specialist provides care using advanced skills in physical exam, nursing diagnosis, and nursing interventions, and functions as a consultant, educator, researcher, resource, and role model for patient, family, community, nursing personnel, and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assess the health status of patients through comprehensive health histories, physical exams, and data analysis to formulate appropriate diagnoses and develop prioritized, comprehensive problem lists and prioritize/initiate nursing interventions;
* Collect patient data, which is prioritized according to the patient's immediate condition or needs, and identify expected patient outcomes and develop individualized plans of care to manage patients' health problems, promote health maintenance, and prioritize multiple patient needs;
* Implement interventions identified in the interdisciplinary plan of care, including therapeutic interventions, patient/family education, and health care referrals;
* Evaluate and document patient progress toward attainment of expected outcomes using interdisciplinary collaboration, quality indicators, and multiple sources of data;
* Act as a patient/family advocate to ensure healthcare services are delivered in an ethical and culturally sensitive manner;

Requirements:
* Registered nurse licensure to practice in the state of Michigan;
* Master's degree in nursing (i.e., a clinical-based degree);
* Two years of clinical experience as a professional nurse;
* National certification in advanced practice nursing specialty is required within 6 months of employment;

Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $ $110,000 - $140,000, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as paid time off and continuing education opportunities.
