We are a new research group at the University of California, Irvine, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, focusing on the development of novel optical tools for biomedical applications. Our research interests include computational optics, optical system design, and machine learning/AI for imaging and sensing.
Research DirectionsOur overarching goal is to create innovative optical solutions for fundamental science and real-world applications. We are particularly interested in leveraging advanced optical technologies to improve biomedical imaging and sensing capabilities.
About the PIDr. Fei Xia is an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Irvine. She completed her Ph.D. at Cornell University and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Her research interests include optics, computation, and the brain, with a focus on designing advanced optical systems for biomedical applications.
QualificationsWe are seeking a postdoctoral researcher with experimental experience in optics, preferably with a background in experimental optics. Experience in building optical systems, such as optical microscopy, optical imaging, and sensing systems, is a plus.
