ParaEducator (School Aide)/Special Education Programs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ParaEducator (School Aide)/Special Education Programs to join our team at Kilo Middle School. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with certificated teachers to support students in achieving their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
  • Assist students with personal care, including washing, diapering, and toileting, as needed.
  • Administer medication, catheterization, and tube feeding, as directed.
  • Lift and position medically fragile students with care and precision.
  • Develop and implement behavior plans to support students with challenging behaviors.
  • Supervise and assist students during lunch, recess, and other activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • One of the following:
    • AA degree.
    • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 48 college-level semester credits or 72 college-level quarter credits.
    • High school diploma (or equivalent) and pass the state-approved paraeducator assessment test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students with special health care needs and developmental disabilities.
Working Conditions

This is a school year assignment with varying hours and days. The position requires working in indoor and outdoor conditions, with occasional exposure to challenging situations.
