Position Overview

Curry Village Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional care.

A Physical Therapist Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating recovery, enhancing mobility, alleviating discomfort, and preventing or minimizing lasting physical impairments for patients facing challenges due to injuries or illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements tailored treatment plans with specific therapeutic objectives based on the patient's abilities and tolerance, under physician supervision.
  • Evaluates patient requirements; plans, assesses, and adjusts care to achieve physical therapy goals.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to establish and review collective objectives for each patient.
  • Sets practical and attainable targets for patients and residents.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patients' conditions and progress in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Instructs patients and their families on suitable therapeutic techniques.
  • Enhances patient functionality and skills by overseeing and directing assessments for all residents.
  • Communicates effectively regarding patient status and needs with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensures consistent attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Complies with Minimum Data Set (MDS) protocols and effective care planning.
  • Provides guidance and clinical oversight to other PTAs within the facility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

  • Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification is required.

Experience

  • Preferred: Six months of experience in a long-term care setting.
