Job Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Tech II reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and accreditation standards.

This position supports the Neurodiagnostics Lab at Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital and is primarily responsible for performing Electroencephalograms, Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring, Continuous EEG's, and may perform Evoked Potentials in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clinically competent routine electroencephalogram and long term epilepsy/continuous electroencephalograms for neonate through geriatric populations
  • Adept at a variety of application processes, including collodion and paste
  • Pass internal training and show proficiency in the recognition of normal and abnormal waveforms
  • Scanning, clipping, and pruning of LTME/CEEG studies
  • May be expected to perform clinically competent evoked potentials and pass internal training
  • Work with a variety of age groups and disabilities in an inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Maintain equipment in clean and organized condition
  • Report any equipment issue to Lead Technologist/Supervisor
  • Accuracy in charge posting and maintenance of log book
  • Assist Physician with EMG populace
  • Answer phone and schedule patients
Qualifications
  • Required: R.EEG.T, Associate's degree from accredited college or University or graduate of END technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education, R.EP.T or CLTME required within 24 months of hire
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in the END field, Previous health care experience
