Key Responsibilities:
  1. Interprets physician orders and ensures proper requisition is obtained prior to testing.
  2. Collects the appropriate specimens, including blood samples, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
  3. Performs both quantitative and qualitative analyses of body fluids, such as blood and urine, under the guidance of a medical technologist.
  4. Conducts blood counts and tests necessary for transfusion compatibility.
  5. Handles and processes medical specimens with precision and care.
  6. Delivers test results to physicians and nursing staff promptly.
  7. Maintains accurate documentation of all laboratory requests and results.
  8. Identifies abnormalities in test results and alerts the physician without delay.
  9. Responds to urgent (STAT) requests immediately, ensuring timely reporting of results.
  10. Implements daily quality control measures and cleaning protocols as per established guidelines.
  11. Manages inventory of supplies, placing orders as necessary.
  12. Conducts preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment and reports any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  13. Prepares comprehensive reports and maintains records of workload and actions taken.

Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Proficient in basic mathematical concepts and reasoning.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.

Physical and Work Environment:
