We are looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant (Manufacturing) to join our client, a leading Fortune 100 manufacturer based in downtown Chicago.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who value innovation, growth, and employee development. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting activities for timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Actively participate in monthly balance sheet reviews working with the business and SSC.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting issues.
  • Support OneStream reporting to ensure it is performed timely and accurately.
  • Ensure integrity and reliability of all financial transactions and that they are in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, and participate in efforts to remediate audit and control findings.
  • Document standard operating procedures and instructions surrounding accounting procedures.
  • Share best practices in accounting practices with others in the Accounting CoE and support the Accounting Manager to implement them within the team.

Process Improvement & Special Projects:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead the team in implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness across the close and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting operations.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SL9).
  • Strong experience ensuring SOX compliance required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
