Job Purpose

The primary role of a Personal Care Assistant is to support clients with daily living activities and household tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal planning, preparation, and cleanup
  • Assisting with personal hygiene, including bed baths and showers
  • Providing oral care support for clients
  • Helping clients transfer between beds, wheelchairs, and chairs
  • Assisting clients with self-administered medications
  • Performing light housekeeping duties
  • Laundering clothing and linens
  • Changing bed linens and making beds
  • Shopping for essential household items
  • Providing advanced personal care, including ostomy and catheter care, administering non-injectable medications, and performing vital sign checks
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Preferred: One year of direct patient care experience in a Skilled Nursing facility or In-Home Care Agency
  • Ability to assist clients with mobility using aids such as canes, walkers, or gait belts
