Material Handler

We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team at MGPI Processing, Inc. in Atchison, KS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing equipment, conducting in-plant testing, and ensuring the quality of our products.

• Operate packaging equipment, including bag/box fillers, bag sealers, box tapers, check weighers, pallet stretch wrappers, and other equipment post-dryer.
• Manage forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks, and document incoming and outgoing materials.
• Perform changeovers from different products and packaging efficiently, and maintain sanitation levels to meet BRC requirements.
• Conduct allergen cleaning of plant equipment as needed, and work safely with sanitation chemicals.
• Perform housekeeping tasks as required, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Enter required data on computers, and interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Work in a team environment, and operate with minimal supervision.
• Meet deadlines, and operate multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Wear personal protective equipment and other safety equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by management as required.

• Ability to operate multiple tasks simultaneously, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Mathematical skills required, and ability to maintain manual and automated records.
• Ability to communicate over a radio, and monitor and maintain equipment.
• Ability to handle hazardous chemicals, such as alcohol, caustic, acids, etc.
