Once Upon a Childcare is seeking a dedicated Infant Care Educator to become a vital part of our team. The successful candidate will have experience working with infants aged 6 to 18 months. Our operational hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Salary: Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. We offer ongoing pay increases for all staff based on adherence to program standards and expectations. We prioritize promoting and supporting our teaching staff in their professional growth.
Additional Benefits:
- All employees will earn Personal Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 3.8 hours for every 40 hours worked, with no expiration on accrued hours.
- Sick leave will accrue at 2.6 hours for every 40 hours worked, with a maximum of 48 hours available each calendar year, which can also roll over.
- Holiday pay will be calculated based on average hours worked and will be provided after a 60-day probationary period.
- A $100 monthly bonus is available for perfect attendance.
- Employees will receive a paid day off for their birthday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create engaging and innovative lesson plans tailored for infants aged 6 to 18 months.
- Utilize diverse educational methods (such as storytelling and interactive play) to facilitate learning.
- Monitor each child's development to enhance their social skills and self-esteem.
- Encourage peer interaction and assist in conflict resolution among children.
- Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a well-structured curriculum (including shape, number, and color recognition).
- Track and report on children's progress to parents.
- Maintain regular communication with parents to understand each child's background and needs.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
- Ensure a clean and safe classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Completion of child development courses from an accredited institution and/or relevant certifications.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and preschool educational practices.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation protocols for educational environments.
- Exceptional communication and teaching abilities.
- Capability to mediate disputes among children.
- Friendly, reliable, and composed demeanor.
- Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain certification.
